Monster Traits

Give a monster Small, Combat Caster or Hates, and take off any one trait while keeping the rest.

These go after newmonster, selectmonster, newitem or selectitem. A 0 after a trait removes it: small 0. With CoE5SE the same works for these vanilla traits:

Vanilla traits

acutesenses, allitemslots, animal, badsight, banishsurv, berserker, bluntres, charmres, clumsy, coldblood, curseditem, demonic, desertstealth, diseaseres, ethereal, fastheal, female, foreststealth, frontpos, holy, human, immortal, inanimate, invisible, invul, largeshield, lucky, magicshield, nobootslots, nocombat, noheal, noleader, nonmaginvul, noslots, nozoc, pierceres, rearpos, regeneration, shield, size1x1, size2x2, slashres, sleepres, snowstealth, spiritsight, stealth, swallowres, tiny, treelook, unaging, undead, unimportant, weaponslots

More in the CoE5 manual

Vanilla monster and item commands are in Illwinter's official modding manual, under "Monster Modding" and "Magic Item Modding".

small

Makes the unit small, like vanilla Goblins: a Soulless raised from it is a Little Soulless.

On:

small

Or off, on a unit that has it:

small 0

On:

#!@small

Or off, on a unit that has it:

#!@small 0

combatcaster

Makes the unit a Combat Caster, like vanilla Paladins.

On:

combatcaster

Or off, on a unit that has it:

combatcaster 0

On:

#!@combatcaster

Or off, on a unit that has it:

#!@combatcaster 0

hates "<kind>" New

Makes the unit hate a kind. Each turn, it has a 15% chance to kill one unit on its square that is hated as that kind. Only a unit on its team can die this way, so hates is a drawback on keeping both kinds on one square, not a weapon.

  • kind: A kind by string or number, or 0 to take it off.

Warning

hates and hated only take the vanilla kinds. Any other, like hates "tanks", silently does nothing (logged in coe5mod.log), and the mod still loads.

By name:

hates "witches & cultists"

Or by number:

hates 5

Or off, on a unit where it is already labeled by the game.

selectmonster "Frost Giant"
hates 0

By name:

#!@hates "witches & cultists"

Or by number:

#!@hates 5

Or off, on a unit where it is already labeled by the game.

selectmonster "Frost Giant"
#!@hates 0

hated "<kind>" New

Makes the unit hated as a kind, so a unit on its team that hates that kind may kill it. Vanilla Cultists are hated as witches & cultists, and vanilla Fire Elementals are hated as fire beings.

  • kind: The same kinds as hates, by string or number, or 0 to take it off.

By name:

hated "fire beings"

Or by number:

hated 1

By name:

#!@hated "fire beings"

Or by number:

#!@hated 1
